10 things you didn’t know about me.

1. i don’t go by astrid in my family. i go by peluchi. my dad started it when i was little and it never changed. it actually comes from the word pelusa which from what i’m told is what people say when they have something stuck in their eye :) awesome.

2. i tried to go vegetarian when i was in 5th grade. lord knows what i was thinking.

3. i grew up a catholic school girl. 12 yrs of uniforms, morning prayer, confession, and monthly masses. college was the first time i experienced getting to actually pick out clothes for school.

4. i cannot stand vacuums, vacuuming, or anything that has to do with a vacuum.

5. i hate getting my nails done. mostly because i don’t have the patience.

6. i will almost always choose salt over sugar.

7. i love home decorating and thankfully, so does my husband. we both come from crazy moms who were huge on DIY home renovating and decorating, and the gene was surely passed down to both of us. we have installed our own hardwood floors, picked out all the decor in our house together, and are currently renovating our kitchen! people always assume i did the whole house, but the truth is he has a lot of input and knowledge on the DIY front.

8. chris calls me Mija, which in spanish is a term of endearment.

9. i am an adventurous eater and will try anything. very few foods gross me out and it’s part of why i love traveling so much (and anthony bourdain!)

10. my nails are currently my favorite color for summer- turqouise! my favorite color for fall….plum so dark it almost looks black
