3 Ways To Ensure You Get The Best Wedding Photos

I always tell my couples that their wedding photos are one of the only things you get to keep after the wedding day is done. There are so many factors that go into getting the most amazing photos, so I’ve put together three ways to ensure you get the best wedding photos possible.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

Know your style. Everybody has a vision in their head when they’re planning their wedding, and it’s important to be able to convey that vision to not only your planner, but also to your photographer. When choosing a photographer, be sure to research their body of work to ensure their photography and editing style are aligned with your vision. A certain photographer may be amazing, but if their style doesn’t match yours, the photos won’t be what you want. Don’t rush the process and find someone willing to work with you to create the best vision for your big day.

HAVE A PLAN

Communicate with your photographer. It’s always a great idea to go in with a plan. Photographers will know the most important moments of the big day and will be ready to capture them (first dance, cake cutting, etc.) but if you have sentimental items such as great grandmother’s brooch, or key elements of the day that are a surprise to your guests or fiancé, tell your photographer. This is your day and you don’t want to be worried that it’s not being captured the way you hoped it would be.

GO WITH THE FLOW

As important as it is to have a plan, it’s equally important to be flexible. Plans change at weddings all the time, but this is why it’s important to hire a true professional. After over 10 years of experience photographing weddings, I have been in every situation imaginable. The most important thing is that you are relaxed and just enjoying your day! Take a deep breath, soak it all in and all the special moments that come with it!

Once you’ve hired your photographer, hopefully, these tips will help with the process leading up to the wedding day. Remember why you hired them. The best thing you can do is trust your photographer to do their job well and give you the most memorable wedding photos!
