For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

25 questions.

i found this survey on one of my favorite local DC blogger’s blog the other day, and i thought it would make for a fun blog post over here! if you are bored at work and need a break, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

25 QUESTIONS

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I would love to have Oprah over. I just love how she has inspired so many people and truly changed so many lives. She is a true example of what it’s like to follow your passion and dreams, no matter what your background may be. Plus she is a kick ass business woman!

Would you like to be famous? In what way?

I know I would never want to be famous in the sense of having paparazzi outside my house, strangers stopping me for pictures, tabloids..etc..I have a hard enough time being personal just on my little blog! however I think it would be awesome to be “famous” as an entrepreneur or inspiring other women to make their own path.

Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why?

when i was in high school, i used to have a written list of “go to” subjects to talk about with my boyfriend in case there were awkward silences. these days, for business meetings i am not rehearsing but more like gathering all the info we have previously talked about and preparing for a productive call.

What would constitute a “perfect” day for you?

i would start with a fun workout with the husband,  followed by an awesome brunch with some girlfriends that would definitely involve mimosas. then a fun family outdoor activity with C & C (Chris and Charlotte), a homemade family dinner, and end the day with my husband on the couch and our favorite tv series at the moment.  this usually involves a bottle of wine, Homeland, a big fluffy blanket and some fun late night snacks.

When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?

I sang The Good Morning Song to Charlotte this morning while we were getting her ready for her first day at Daycare…tear :(

If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?

Mind, without a question.

Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?

No idea and I’d rather not know

Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.

We are such opposites I’ve actually never thought about this. We both share a passion for living a healthy lifestyle, we both agree on how we want to raise kids, and we both love to travel to fun places around the world.

For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

Our health and my childhood. It seems everyone has traumatic childhoods these days, and I really loved mine. I have mostly happy memories of the neighborhood i grew up in, the way my parents raised me, the friends that i had and the catholic school community that i grew up in.

If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

My parents were pretty strict so I would have definitely liked a bit more flexibility! That and saying I’m sorry was not something that was spoken often.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

I would be an awesome singer and a crazy acrobatic athlete! (I was meant to be in Cirque du Soleil in another life). a closer runner up would be billy joel’s piano skills.

If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?

I would love to know what my life will look like 10yrs from now.

Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?

Travel all throughout Europe, specifically Italy and France. Mostly because of the cost it would be to do that trip the way I would want. I can’t just go for a week, so it’s on the bucket list :)

What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

As cliche as it sounds, being my husband’s wife and a loving momma to our baby girl. nothing else i do will ever feel greater than those two things.

What do you value most in a friendship?

Honesty. Being able to openly talk about the tough times in life as often as the good. There is something comforting knowing that others have walked the same paths you’ve walked and we are all on this crazy journey of life together.

What is your most treasured memory?

There are too many to pick one. As traumatic as losing my dad suddenly in 2013 was, the memory of every single person who loved him coming to the hospital was overwhelming. It took a really long time for me to feel this way. At the time i was more annoyed with the amount of people that were around. But i can now look back and see how amazing it was to have the hopsital so stuffed full of people that loved him, that we literally took over the floor and the staff had to keep accommodating the amount of people that were crammed in.  Also, watching my husband become a dad in those first few sweet, but tough sleepless nights of parenting is possibly one of my all time favorite memories.

What is your most terrible memory?

The moment i realized that whether or not my dad was going to make it physically,  the dad i knew and loved was gone.

If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?

I really wouldn’t! I’ve thought about this many times…I really believe I am living the way I am supposed to be living in this moment. However, I would probably add a few trips overseas with my husband and baby. Italy, Africa, France, Australia, Colombia…etc..

What does friendship mean to you?

Everything. I could not survive life without my closest friends!

What roles do love and affection play in your life?

I come from a very loving and affectionate family. I cuddle with my cousins, we hug and kiss for everything, and as weird as it sounds I still sit on my aunt claudia’s lap while she squeezes me and plays with my hair. it took awhile for my husband to get used to, but now he gets the same hugs, kisses and cuddling from my aunts and cousins which if you know my husband is pretty hilarious to witness!

How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people’s?

My family makes everyone feel like family and everyone is very close. On a regular basis I will storm into my cousin Dianna’s house, hand her a baby, run to her bathroom, grab a snack from fridge and then plant myself on her couch. No idea if my childhood was happier but it was definitely a fun childhood.

When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself?

I don’t really remember. I think I cried to Chris a few weeks ago when I was feeling overwhelmed with the to-do list. I probably cried by myself the last time I watched Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.

If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven’t you told them yet?

I think there was so much going on at daycare drop off this morning, that i didn’t tell Charlotte or Chris that i loved them before i left.

Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?

My photo albums, obviously.

Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why?

Anyone younger than me.
