well, it seems i have been neglecting the blog a bit lately. i know…i apologize…bad astrid.

however, i promise it’s for a good reason! i have been shooting the most amazing weddings, pretending to be single the last 3 weeks with my husband out of town (which also means i went 6 days straight with not one vegetable.  dinner the other night was grilled cheese, buffalo wings, bacon pizza, and crackers with milk) but most importantly, I have been running around like a basketcase….trying to get ready for my upcoming trip to colombia  :)

no…not columbia, md. but more like colombia as in the country. the one with no u’s. the one where coffee, (crack!) and shakira come from. the same place that is famous for it’s carribean beaches, snow capped mountains, ancient ruins, and amazon jungle.  the place where my entire family is from for many generations.  it’s where they dance until all hours in the morning, and then take shots of aguardiente for breakfast!

so what will i be doing there, you ask? hmmm…i have no idea! all i know is that i have a backpack with lots of bug spray and a guidebook.  oh yes…i also packed a chaperone responsible for not letting me make stupid decisions. hehe. but really…i plan to do nothing….and everything….take lots of pictures….eat alot….SLEEP alot….try not to get kidnapped…..and overall have a great experience with my partner in crime :-)

so yes…lots of excitement and probably even more anxiety. my life is officially complete chaos at the moment trying to get everything done.  at this point, if i don’t forget my passport, i will consider it a successful trip.  :-) this will be my first time out of the country and i think i will still question if it’s real all the way to the airport.  of course, i promise i will have lots of pictures to share when i return.
