For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

libby + travis :: mr. + mrs smith!

their story began over 10 yrs ago. i remember the look on libby’s face when she sat on the couch and told me they were getting back together. the excitement in her eyes. the nervousness. the pure love she has for travis was apparent even then.

what i loved most about this wedding is how personal it was. everyone played a part in making it come together. the margaritas were made by the bridesmaids. the lights strung by dad. the wedding planners were close friends. the photographer was sister. the pillows made by mom.

everyone came together to make the wedding beautiful and it showed….

i woke up around 5:30am the morning of the wedding. excited. nervous. but sooo excited. for those of you reading the blog for the first time, libby is my sister-in law. no pressure, right? when i looked out my window, i knew that libby + travis were still asleep but i wanted them to be able to know what the sunrise looked like on their wedding day…. and so it all began…. while the girls drank champagne….

the boys did this…

i have to give a special thank you to meghan, who shot with me that day- which allowed me to have as much fun in front of the camera as i was behind it.
libby + travis opted to do a First Look. which was amazing because it made the first time they saw each other a special, quiet, moment for just the two of them. it also allowed for them to go right into having fun after the ceremony- they enjoyed their full cocktail hour with their guests and didn’t have to worry about taking pictures before the reception. oh, how i love First Looks…

isn’t she pretty? :)

of course we had to sneak out for sunset!

the ceremony + reception were held at the Hawaiian Palace in VA Beach which made for the perfect backdrop…..

the toasts were some of my favorites.

and then dad asked for a dance.

libby + travis :: i cannot put into words how much i love you both…it was so amazing to be a part of your day, as a “bridesmaid” and as your photographer. congratulations….it is just the beginning!!

(p.s.- lib- tag you are IT for having kids first and getting your crazy mom to harass you from now on!) :-D

oh and do you know what we are doing for thanksgiving this year???

xoxo

You are officially the best sister-in-law/photographer/bridesmaid EVER!!!!! I am so lucky to have you. You take the most amazing pictures- I really dislike having my picture taken and I’m sure that made it harder for you and still… amazing. Your work is worth a million dollars- literally. I am going to Mom’s for Thanksgiving… I hear you guys are too- I hope so. I miss you!!!! xoxo

Words are never enough to describe my abundant appreciation of your work (especially when all those I love in the world are in the photos). It is true, “a picture IS worth a thousand words”!!! Thank you once again my sweet brown-eyed girl. Your “words” are stellar! I love you :)
