this morning i booked my flight to ALASKA and i am so excited i could puke.

(and trust me anyone who was around me when i booked Colombia can vouch for my extremely high anxiety/excitement levels when it comes to travel. let’s just say it’s over the top and at times not so pretty! :) )

i am going with some amazing friends, going to stay with an amazing family, and (of course) hope to take some amazing pictures! i simply cannot wait :D

in other randomness, this little gem has been floating around the photography world and i thought it was pretty funny so i thought i would share with ya’all. (today i am southern apparently).

the truth is, though the equipment is highly beneficial and helpful, it’s the eyes and vision behind the camera that make the image what it is. there is a huge difference between strategically planning a shot and simply shooting from the hip and getting lucky now and then. premeditating angles, depth of field, use of light and shadows, composition- alot more than just having a pretty camera with an expensive lens.  just my thoughts ;-)
