officially the most romantic wedding ceremony i have witnessed.

this was a last minute wedding i was asked to help shoot by the great kristi odom. shooting it, regardless of the fact that we were in the midst of the biggest blizzard the DC area has seen in years, was one of the best decisions i have ever made.

that is how many people were present. kristi and i, the priest, the videographer….

ruth + ken arrived giggling. “he gave me a a ride to our wedding!” i remember her telling me as she was getting ready. meanwhile, outside we had already reached about 2 ft of snow and the snowflakes were still going strong. so strong we weren’t sure if we would actually be able to leave once the ceremony was over. they two of them took their sweet time getting ready and walked through the church hallways watching the snowfall through the enourmous glass windows. at 4:15pm, ken walked his bride down the aisle and it began. the day they would remember forever.

it was a short and sweet ceremony with lots of smiles and few tears. afterwards, the bride and groom cut their small cake and opened a bottle of bubbly they had brought to share with us. of course, with the most beautiful fresh white powder completely covering the entire city that very moment, we knew we had to take advantage of this rare opportunity. all i have to say is ruth was amazing. she was out in freezing tempetures with sandals on and kept a smile on her face the entire time. the two of them out in the middle of a snowstorm in their wedding attire…it was the perfect beginning of 2010 wedding season….but i will let the pictures tell the rest of this story  :-)

i want to especially thank kristi for inviting me to go on this shoot with her. shooting with her just never feels like work  :-)
