Notes on photography, the stories we love, and the experiences we collect along the way

For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

and then there was that time.

that time i attended a wedding….

as a guest :)

we got ready in “THE” house. there is always “the” house, or hotel room, or whatever it may be on a wedding day.  the one with everyone involved in the wedding. we were with the groom, the mother of the groom…and basically the entire family. all 2342 of them. it’s the house i normally walk into on a wedding day…the one with a whirlwind of people, curling irons, food, chaos, and excitement. only this time i was a part of it. i helped watch kids so their parents could get ready, i zipped up dresses, i asked for opinions on which earrings to wear, and i got my hair done. this time, I was the chaos. and the one laughing with everyone, beer in hand. and when then photographer walked in to start shooting, i smiled at him and happily led him to our little home of chaos.

and in that moment i was so thankful that, this time, i was the one in the story…and not the one telling the story.

i soaked up every minute of pink champagne and fresh oysters. watched sunset on the water with chris. smiled as we watched cousin mark dance his first dance. and tickled our little nieces and nephews till they were red in the face. i wore a sparkly dress and mary jane heels that by the end of the night, i was doing breathing excercises to get through. it was the perfect way to end our quick trip to charleston, sc… that one time that i was the guest.
