it was a busy and adventurous august but i can honestly say that i am happy to be back at home. back behind my desk. back to normal workouts. back in my bed. eating homemade meals and watching tv with my husband. back to back trips to alaska and hawaii for both work and pleasure proved to be the experience of a lifetime. it is always the constant battle in my head every time i travel. do i bring my camera and capture everything around me? or do i just enjoy the moments and take it all in? i have to say that lately, the busier i get professionally, the less i want to shoot personally. i’m still not sure how i feel about that. i brought my cameras with me on both trips and truly did very little shooting. i really wanted to just soak in every sweet minute we had together and with our friends. the bonfires in alaska. the sunsets in mauii. the salmon fishing and the mai tais. i always get on guests at weddings for spending the entire day taking pictures, instead of really enjoying themselves and taking it all in (plus that is what i’m there for- so you don’t have to!). so i am trying to take my own advice. i was so inspired by both places for different reasons, but for now i leave you with a few fun instagram photos from what our life is looking like these days.
Amen to the guests putting the camera down. I want them to be a part of the moment not documenting it. Welcome back!
