things i loved about this wedding ::
1- wilmington. i have a huge heart for this place. known for their old, historic, exposed brick buildings, wilmington was such a charming town to walk around in. it was right on the water and made me wish i was a wilmington wedding photographer forever.
2- there was a bridesMAN. yes, man. he was awesome.
3- fresh, hot funnel cake fried up at “midnight snack” for the guests!
4- no formal dinner. just a lot of fun foods while everyone mingled and danced, including fish tacos, fried chicken and mac n cheese!
5- these guests impressed me with their partying skills. coming from a colombian family, this is a huge compliment!
6- the wedding theme came from all the places they have lived. they incorporated it with custom made maps and even the food served represented all the fun locations!
they danced in the twinkle lit tent under the wilmington sky, surrounded by the water and people who flew in from all around their country to show their love and support for them. erin + nevin were both were smiles and laughter all day and one of the most laid back couples i have ever had. i walked in on nevin writing a letter to his future wife, and then got to be there to see her tear up as she read it. you can simply see the sweetness they have for each other in everything they do.
this wedding was extra special because erin was not just a bride, but also a friend. being able to document the wedding for someone you love is a very special privilege i don’t take lightly. erin + nevin :: thank you so so much for inviting me to be a part of your day. it was truly so amazing to be able to witness your wedding and be there from beginning to end. erin- i am still impressed (but not surprised) by your taquito eating competition stats i learned about during the best man’s speech! that’s my girl :)
and the advantage of shooting your friend’s wedding :: being forced to put your camera down when an awesome song comes on to dance with the bride!
lastly, i worked with an amazing team of vendors who made this wedding as beautiful as it was! salt harbor designs truly made everything flow flawlessly and were just great to work with.
