and even though we ain’t got money
i’m so in love with ya honey
and everything will bring a chain of love
and in the morning when i rise
you bring a tear of joy to my eyes
and tell me everything is gonna be alright
Danny’s Song by Kenny Loggins
this song has come in waves to me throughout our life together. through ups and downs, through chasing dreams and months of unemployment, through living at your mom’s to buying and painting our first home, from a long distance relationship to getting my own drawer and toothbrush. i remember our 1st anniversary in that cheap motel in ocean city were we had to wear shoes in the hotel room because the carpet was soggy and the window was held open by a wooden hanger. it was all we could afford but it didn’t matter.
through all these things, this song has come and gone as a faded melody in the back of my mind. sometimes more relevant than others, but always brings a small grin to my face, remembering that phone call when you asked me if i would love you no matter what.
yup, i’m thinking 7 yrs later that answer is still the same.
xo.
us. 1 yr anniversary. (look closely and you can see that hanger in the window ;-) )
Adorable :)
LOVE. SO cute!
Had to let you know that Danny’s Song was what my husband and I had our first dance to at our wedding. It is a timeless song that rang true for us during times just like what you wrote about. Not only was the money part appropriate for us then, but I was also five months pregnant with my son on our wedding day. Love that song.
aww jaime that is so cute :) love that.
