For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

your wedding photographs are a legacy.

i say it over and over again, but i truly believe it.  it’s when i come across photographs like this that i am reminded that the photographs from your wedding day will someday  be a part of your family legacy.

this is my grandmother and grandfather. they were married for many years before my grandma passed away when i was little. how amazing is this photograph from their wedding day? and as if that is not enough, the back of the photograph has a note that my grandfather wrote from that time period.

when i come across images like this, i am reminded that the photographs we take on your wedding day are so much more than just capturing that pinterest inspired idea or stylized detail. Yes, those things are fun and I absolutely love shooting them, but those aren’t the photographs that years from now will take your breathe away. This photograph was taken in 1955 and here I am in 2015, with my daughter on my lap looking at it, in awe of my beautiful grandparents and that one special black and white picture from their wedding day.

The Wedding of Roberto and Dorys

May 25, 1955

“We were both 23 years old,  filled with love after almost five years of incredibly beautiful dating.

We have a capital of $28.00 pesos and went for our honeymoon to Puerto Colombia, to an ocean front hotel called “ La Vina de Mar”

for $7.00 daily for three days. Later, in this same town, we decided to move into a little house paying $25.00 monthly.

What beautiful precious days, full of love and poverty.”
