For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

nat geo. annie griffiths. simply beautiful.

it’s late.  i’m tired but it’s too hot to sleep and chris has officially taken over my side of the bed. it’s almost midnight and i am sitting at my computer with a couple candles burning, continuing my workday into the night. i still love that it doesn’t feel like work (most of the time). i still love that even though i work double the hours i used to, the gratification is ten times better than i can imagine. there are many people who have helped me get here, and it’s nights like tonight that i am just happy to have those people in my life. they know who they are.

i spent the evening at National Geographic tonight with a friend. it was a humbling and gratifying experience to sit and listen to Annie Griffiths, one of the first women photographers to ever work at National Geographic, talk about her own journey and share some of her favorite National Geographic images of all time. it was overwhelming and inspiring. not just the images but the stories behind them. it was a reminder that, sometimes, the most simple things in life are the most beautiful.

well, unfortunately i don’t have a shot of a gorilla in the wild to show you, or an angry shark attack, or a snow capped mountain at sunset. i AM after all…a wedding photographer.  however, this DOES mean i have my latest favorite shot of the cutest pair of shoes to share!

now now….don’t be dissapointed.  someday i will have the shots of the gorillas, the sharks, and the mountains. with a side of zebras, dolphins, ancient ruins, jungles, sea lions, spaghetti from italy, castles, waterfalls, and giraffes.

at least i sure as hell plan on it ;-)

big humongous amazing thank you to a miss tracy timmester, who invited me to shoot the wedding in which i was able to get this latest favorite shoe shot- i had sooo much fun getting behind a camera with you!

and in case anyone is interested, Annie Griffiths is coming out with her latest book. a collection of her favorite National Geographic images of all time, some which were never published. Simply Beautiful Photographs.
