For us, it’s the experiences, the travel, the connections, and the iconic fashion of weddings that we love. This blog is our inside edit of all those things and more.

sandy + michael :: married

this was such a different wedding. and i loved every second of it.

sandy + michael decided to take this whole business of “getting married” into their own hands, and when they contacted me to shoot their wedding last minute on a thursday afternoon with just the two of them, it sounded like the most romantic and adorable wedding i had ever heard of.

i shot this wedding very documentary style, just following them around  as they celebrated their wedding day. we started at their house in dupont where michael patiently waited while sandy got ready. she walked out and from there i don’t think a smile ever left either of their faces. we went to a charming little flower shop on the corner were we all picked out her bouquet. then we headed across the street to a family owned bakery where they ordered “the best chocolate cake in the entire world” for themselves. we spent the afternoon pulling over at random corners all over the city and taking pictures, and ending the day with the two of them saying their vows on the Spanish Steps. they truly got to spend their wedding day exactly how they wanted…with each other, and eating the best chocolate cake :)

(and you may recognize sandy…she is an extremeley talented chef who has this cookbook out on the NY best sellers list as well as this one available for pre-order. However, i recognized her from her fun episode on Bobby Flay’s Throwdown where she and her business partner went against Bobby Flay with her amazing chicken pot pie! lets just say sandy and i had a lot to talk about :)
