The Colony Hotel Wedding | Palm Beach, Florida

Palm Beach Wedding Photography

Ashton and Evan’s destination wedding in Palm Beach with Courtney Paige Events was such a fantastic way to kick off the year! The couple lives in Washington DC but decided to host their luxurious wedding at the newly renovated The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach – a city that was very special to them as a couple. Ashton had grown up vacationing in Palm Beach, and it became a regular travel spot for the couple throughout their relationship. When they found out that they could be the very first wedding at the newly renovated The Colony Hotel, they knew it was the perfect spot! With Palm Beach going through an incredible revival and the ability to have a pre-wedding beach day in the middle of January, who wouldn’t want to get married here?

The Iconic The Colony Hotel Palm Beach

Also known as “The Pink Paradise” this iconic hotel has undergone an incredible renovation over the past two years. The owners and designers worked together to pay homage to the original hotel features and stayed true to its Palm Beach spirit. Ashton and Evan’s wedding was heavily inspired by the pink and green motif throughout the hotel, and perfectly reflected the style of The Colony Hotel in their stationery and bridesmaid dresses. We incorporated several different spots around the hotel into their wedding portraits, including the stunning pink exterior and the hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper mural inspired by the original lobby mural from 1947.

The de Gournay wallpaper in the hotel living room was incredibly important to owner Sarah Wetenhall in the revival of the hotel. She calls it her ‘love letter’ to The Colony and Palm Beach – a monumental piece of art filled with plants and fauna native to the region and a special portrait of The Colony’s mascot, Johnny Brown. To Ashton and Evan, the piece reflected on childhood vacations and the rebirth of a city that is so important to them. I’m so glad I could be part of this monumental wedding in such a gorgeous city, and an iconic hotel that will surely continue to make its mark for years to come.

Ashton and Evan – Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your special day!
